Protea Flower
The Proteaceae family to which Proteas belong is an ancient one. The genus Protea was named in 1735 by Carolus Linnaeus.
These
flowers were named after the Greek god Proteus, who, according to legend, was able to change his appearance at will. This early sea-god can fortell the
future, but will chance his shape to avoid having to, he will only answer to someone who is capable of capturing him.
