Hilma Af Klint made the series of drawings Tree of knowledge after a culmination of botanical studies, utilizing plants as a meditative focus to express a spiritual and emotional bond with nature. Around this time, Mondriaan also painted flowers with a vibrant palette, creating the impression of a radiating aura extending beyond the physical limits of the plant.
