At her solo exhibition, Tee installed three spaces with work influenced by her recent travels to Brazil and her study of the country’s rituals and culture. Her work is inspired by Hélio Oiticica (1937-1980, Brazil) and Öyvind Fahlstrom (1928-1976, Swedish, born in Brazil), two artists who experimented to infuse art in real life. Tee’s installation revolves around the workings of (modern-day) rituals. With works by the deceased artists, on loan by collectors, a dialogue is established between the artist and her art-heroes. Tee rewrites history by arranging a meeting with the two artists, in a ceremonious atmosphere.
